A little bit about the Captain...

 

Captain Mike Tarasavage has been fishing Lake Champlain since 1984. His passion for fishing started when he was seven years old -- stream fishing for Brook Trout and Lake fishing Chateaugay for Bass and Rainbow Trout. In 1984 Captain Tarasavage began commercial fishing Lake Champlain year round for Perch. In 1988 he began traveling to Alaska for eight week commercial fishing contracts targeting Sockeye Salmon. On his downtime he would fish for Coho Salmon, Chinook, Halibut, Grayling and more. He continued this annual Alaskan contracts until 2011 when he shifted his focus solely to fishing Lake Champlain. In 2013 Mike Tarasavage earned his Cost Guard Captains License and founded iFishLakeChamplain.com with the goal of sharing his passion of fishing with others. He fishes Champlain nearly every day from sunrise until sunset whether he’s on a charter or not. Captain Tarasavage is easy going and is great with fishermen/women of all ages and levels of experience. When you’re fishing with Captain Mike Tarasavage, the only person on the lake who wants you to catch trophy fish more than you do is him.
